Iran’s Araqchi to Meet Europeans in Geneva amid Israeli War
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Foreign Minister of Iran Abbas Araqchi confirmed plans for a meeting with his counterparts from the European troika and the EU foreign policy chief in Switzerland on Friday.
The top Iranian diplomat acknowledged on Thursday that he is going to hold a joint meeting with the foreign ministers of the UK, France and Germany as well as High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas.
Araqchi said the Iranian and European delegations will meet in Geneva on Friday, June 20.
The Iranian foreign minister stated that the upcoming meeting will be held at the request of the European troika.
The meeting appears to be a promising sign of diplomatic efforts to stop the Israeli regime’s war on Iran.
The Zionist regime waged an unprovoked war of aggression against Iran on June 13. It carried out airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear, military and residential sites that resulted in the martyrdom of scores of top military commanders, nuclear scientists and ordinary citizens.
The Iranian military forces started counterattacks immediately afterwards. They Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Aerospace Force has carried out 14 waves of retaliatory missile strikes against the Zionist regime as of June 19 as part of Operation True Promise III.
